Five ~ Six ~ Pick Up Sticks (part one)

Didn't we just bring him home yesterday? It feels like it was just last week but really we are almost six months old. I have a few images and stories to catch up on the time that has passed since the last entry.

To "kick off" the entry we have his four month pics (week 17). When I look back to when I started taking these pictures I am just stunned at how much he has grown. He loves to move around so taking the pictures is a lot harder but it is a lot more fun now!

My friend Natalie had a girls brunch one Saturday in May. Rhonda brought Charlotte, Stefanie brought Eli, and we also got to see Paula and Jessica. Natalie was so nice to let us travel over to her house around Monty's schedule and it became much longer than a brunch! We also got to visit with her parents. They have known Chris for YEARS and it was so special that they got to meet our little fellow!

Week 18 photo shoot. He was super happy this day but I didn't have a lot of time for pictures so it was a brief shoot!

The end of May we took a trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge! Our first family trip! I have more pictures that I took on my cell phone but I can't seem to find them on my PC now...oh well. Another time!

The first day we walked around downtown Gatlinburg. Chris found a peanut specialty store (what a dream come true for him!) and a winery. Monty took a nap in the stoller while we sampled the wines. We picked out a few bottles to save for a special occasion and took a walk down the street. We stopped for lunch at Dick's Last Resort which is an attraction in and of itself. They are known for food with sassy service. It was a bit of a turn off (in principle) to me, but it turned out to be a blast. The food was great and we had loads of laughs at the hats, the sarcastic comments, and the atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

We went to the Guinness World Records Museum to get a break from the heat. There were plenty of things to check out from biggest/tallest to smallest/shortest. We had a few interaction things as well.

the "library guy" missed this exhibit! had to send him back for a picture!
We rented a cabin that was nearby. We spent plenty of time enjoying each other's company in the big space provided!

The second day was devoted to the Pigeon Forge side of the area. We were going to play mini golf but we spotted the wax museum on the way and changed out plans!

Afterwards we went to No Way Jose, which is a Mexican place we have been to previously. It was nice to step back in time and talk about previous trips we have taken to the area (yet we always have something new to do!?!) and how much things have changed since Monty came into our lives! In a good way of course!

We chilled at the cabin for a few hours before heading out to Lumberjack Feud- which is a dinner show featuring many of the events you see on lumberjack contests (ESPN). We decided t get tickets only (skipped the meal) in case Monty was having a rough go at the show, but he was an angel! He sat with Chris for a while, had a bottle, and then sat with me for a bit. He watched the events and didn't make much noise. It was a perfect "final event" for our first family vacation!
